ProEx was thrilled to be back at the Triathlon Camp & Race at Eisenhower Park in West Hartford, CT. The camp, in it's fifth year, was held from August 4-8 and was organized by Team Training New England, a local business that is passionate about training adults and children on how to do triathlons. Throughout the week, campers learned the skills necessary to do a triathlon, how to train for a race, and good eating and fitness habits. The race itself took place on Saturday, August 9th. Participants, ranging in ages 6-13, swam from 25 yards to 100 yards, biked 1 mile to 4 miles, and ran 1/4 mile to 1 mile depending on their age.
The ProEx tent was set up and equipped with treatment tables and licensed physical therapists available to provide all participants pre and post race stretches.
"We had a great time talking to the kids about proper stretching and warmup techniques," said Eric Kopp, Director of Clinical Education at ProEx. "It's important to us to help educate the community on injury prevention."
