ProEx Members Received Professional Achievement Award


ProEx proudly announces that Mike Severo, Chief Operating Officer, Ben Barron, Regional Clinical Director, and Mike Mulrenan, CEO were recently honored with the 2011 Boston University Sargent College of Health and Rehabilitation Services Professional Achievement Award.

The award is given to alumni of Boston University who have translated their Sargent experience into practice, resulting in the advancement of the health and rehabilitation services professions.

Severo is the Chief Operating Officer for ProEx Physical Therapy, overseeing the clinic operations and employee training programs. He has more than 20 years experience in healthcare as a clinician, administrative leader and educator. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in exercise science from California State University, Fresno and his Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy from Boston University. Severo is currently adjunct faculty in the transitional Doctoral Physical Therapy program at Boston University where he teaches Healthcare Management.

Barron is a Regional Clinical Director with ProEx. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Health Studies from Boston University and his Master of Science in Physical Therapy from Boston University. He is a former adjunct faculty member at Boston University’s Sargent College where he was an instructor in the Doctorate of Physical Therapy program.

Mulrenan is the founder and CEO of ProEx Physical Therapy, which currently employs over 70 people in 8 clinics throughout New England. ProEx was named one of Boston Business Journal’s "Best Places to Work" in 2010. And, in 2007, Mike was named to the "Top 25 Most Influential" list by the national online magazine, Therapy Times. Mike is an advocate for the physical therapy profession and believes the profession is poised to play a key role in healthcare reform. Currently, he is involved in the development of a fellowship training program that will focus on preparing physical therapists with advanced skills in managing patients in the outpatient orthopedic setting.
