Matt, Co-owner and Regional Clinical Director for ProEx Physical Therapy, received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Therapy from Northeastern University in 1997 and completed a two-year residency program in manual therapy. He is currently a candidate for full-fellowship in the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists. In 2008, Matt became certified by Workwell Occupational Health Systems to focus on the rehabilitation of the industrial work setting through functional capacity evaluations. He specializes in orthopedic rehabilitation, sports injuries and treatment of the spine. Matt has over 10 years of experience working with Professional, Collegiate and High school athletes in the field of physical therapy, and designing customized fitness programs, which he successfully demonstrated as Program Director of Baystate Sports Training, 2001-2005. While earning his degree, Matt pitched on the Husky baseball team, helping to lead the program to the NCAA Division I Regional baseball tournament his senior year. He then went on to compete professionally for a year in Holland. Matt plays an active role in the community, speaking on topics related to physical therapy and sports conditioning with local business groups and athletic organizations, as well as appearing as a regular guest lecturer at Northeastern University. In addition to his local appearances, Matt is currently a Teaching Assistant for the ProEducation Series at ProEx Physical Therapy, focusing on topics related to Medical Exercise Therapy and Spinal Conditions. Matt is a past member of the Woburn Rotary Club and holds current membership in the American Physical Therapy Association, the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists and the Massachusetts Private Practice Special Interest Group of the APTA, of which he sits on the group's Executive Committee. He was also recently appointed co-Chair of the Payment Policy and Practice Committee of the MA APTA. Matt's dedication to the field of physical therapy is exhibited everyday in the knowledge and training he provides to his staff and the personal attention and care he conveys to his patients.
Jess received his Bachelors degree in Athletic Training from Boston University in 2006 and went on to receive a Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy from Boston University 2008. During his post graduate clinical rotations he had the opportunity to work with the Indiana Pacers, the BU Terrier Ice Hockey Team, and the MIT Engineer Football Team. Jess also assisted as a medical volunteer for the Boston Athletic Association's 2005 and 2006 Boston Marathons. Jess joined the ProEx team in August 2008, and initially served as the Head Athletic Trainer at Arlington High School for 2008-2009 school year. Jess became clinic manager of the Financial District clinic in 2014. Jess actively continues his professional training in the area of manual therapy and Medical Exercise Therapy through multiple professional courses including the ProEducation Series. Jess completed the Boston University Institute of Manual Therapy Fellowship in 2016 and is now a Fellow in the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists. Jess has treated a wide range of sports and orthopedic conditions, and has worked at developing new treatment techniques for plantar fasciitis and sciatica. A member of the American Physical Therapy Association, Jess presented his research on plantar fasciitis to the APTA of Massachusetts in 2015. Jess is dedicated to improving the standard of care in physical therapy and is an active clinical instructor, regularly accepting clinical students from Boston University, Northeastern University, and MGH’s Institute of Health Professions to help educate future physical therapists.
Matthew received a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, and his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Boston University. Prior to joining ProEx, Matt gained experience in a several areas of rehabilitation at the West Roxbury VA Hospital, including spinal cord injury, stroke, multiple sclerosis, cardiopulmonary, and post-operative orthopedic rehabilitation. Matt also performed a clinical affiliation at the renowned Boston University Center for Neurorehabilitation, a clinic specializing in the treatment of Parkinson’s disease. Before changing careers to become a physical therapist, Matt was a carpenter steward and foreman with Local 40 Carpenters Union in Cambridge, where he still remains member. In addition to working as a full time physical therapist, he is currently enrolled in a post-doctoral program for advanced orthopedic training at the Institute of Orthopedic Manual Therapy. Originally from Norwood, Matt has been a Boston resident for over 15 years where in his spare time he is a drummer in a rock band, enjoys carpentry projects, hiking, and running.
Dan earned his Bachelors of Health Science Degree in 2007, and his Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2009 from Boston University. An avid runner, Dan was a competitive varsity track and cross country athlete at Boston University and recently completed his first Boston Marathon. Prior to working at ProEx he was a valued member of the Cambridge Health Alliance Rehabilitation Services, concentrating on sports medicine and general orthopedic conditions. Dan devoted much of his expertise as the leader of the Spine Special Interest Group, focusing primarily with neurological and spinal conditions. Dan recently completed level one in the Institute of Orthopedic Manual Therapy, a post-graduate fellowship program, where he expanded his knowledge in clinical biomechanics , spinal evaluation and manual therapy. In addition to patient care, Dan is currently acting as a teaching assistant in the Physical Therapy program at Boston University. In his spare time, Dan enjoys hiking in the White Mountains and playing basketball.
Lisa is a Staff Physical therapist here in Boston's Financial District location. Lisa received both her Bachelor of Science in Health Studies and Doctor of Physical Therapy from Boston University. She is a current member of the American Physical Therapy Association, Massachusetts Chapter. Originally from West Boylston, Lisa now lives in Brighton and enjoys yoga, running, photography, traveling and cheering on Boston sports teams. For the past six years she has volunteered at the Boston Marathon as a volunteer member of the Boston Athletic Association.
Kelsey will work at ProEx while she pursues her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Northeastern University. Kelsey is a graduate of Northeastern University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Science; prior to joining ProEx, she was a physical therapy aide with Faulkner Hospital in Boston. Kelsey’s volunteer activities include participation in a health promotion program for Boston youths at the Boston YMCA and leading an exercise program for residents of the Symphony Plaza East Assisted Living Facility in Boston. In her spare time, Kelsey enjoys running, water skiing, cooking and watching movies.
Danica is a Physical Therapist at the Financial District and Government locations. Prior to joining the ProEx team she attended and graduated from Providence College with a degree in Health Policy & Management then went on to pursue her doctorate in Physical therapy graduating in 2017! In her spare time Danica enjoys running, the beach and spending time with her family.
Originally from Chicago, Illinois, Jordan will be working full-time as an exercise technician. Jordan is a co-op student in the Doctor of Physical Therapy program at Northeastern University. When not at work, Jordan enjoys spending time at the beach and longboarding down Beacon Hill in Boston.
Delmis Urquiza of Malden, Massachusetts joined the Boston team as a Front Desk Specialist and Exercise Technician. In this dual role, she oversees the clinic schedule, handles phone calls and under the supervision of staff members, motivates, safeguards and assists patients with their therapeutic exercise programs. Delmis, who is fluent in Spanish, graduated from UMass – Boston with a degree in Exercise & Health Sciences. Originally from Everett, Massachusetts she now lives in Malden where in her spare time she enjoys reading, dining and activities with family and friends.
Lindsey works as an Exercise Technician in the Financial District Boston location while completing her Doctor of Physical Therapy at Northeastern University. In this role, she instructs, motivates, safeguards and assists patients with their therapeutic exercise programs. Lindsey received her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Texas A&M. Prior to pursuing her DPT studies, she was a Physical Therapy Technician with New Stride Physical Therapy. Originally from Columbus, Texas, Lindsey presently lives in Jamaica Plain and enjoys swimming, outdoor activities, traveling and reading.
Colleen Rottman of Boston, Massachusetts is attending Northeastern University where she is pursuing her Bachelor’s degree and Doctorate of Physical Therapy. Colleen brings industry experience to her post at ProEx, having previously been a Rehabilitation Aide and Co-op Student with Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital. She is originally from Nashua, New Hampshire, and when not attending Northeastern and working at ProEx, enjoys cooking, reading and running.
