Tennis & Golfer's Elbow Treatment in Boston MA, NH, and CT

Lateral Epicondylitis : Tennis Elbow

Lateral Epicondylitis is a very common injury to the outside of the elbow tendon where the muscles attach.  It is usually caused by overuse or repetitive activity which can break down and inflame the tendon. Even though it is commonly known as Tennis Elbow, the injury occurs more often with trade labors that include repetitive strain and bending in the wrist, such as gripping heavy objects or using manual tools.  Symptoms include pain about an inch below the outside of the elbow and a weakness in the wrist.

Medial Epicondylitis : Golfers Elbow

Very similar to Lateral Epicondylitis, Medial Epicondylitis effects the tendons on the inside of the elbow.  This condition is often called Golfers Elbow as it can occur with repeated bending, flexing, and overuse of the wrist, such as when gripping and swinging a golf club.  Symptoms include pain on the inside of the elbow when flexing or squeezing objects with your hands, as well as weakness in the wrist.  Pain may also occur when bending your wrist down or rotating it inwards and up toward yourself.
